Overview

Outpost partnered with White Label Storage, a mid-market self-storage company with 300+ facilities, to design and build their entire data infrastructure from scratch. The engagement advanced the company from Level 0 to Level 3 analytics maturity, transforming them from having zero analytics capabilities into offering a monetized, customer-facing analytics product as a premium service.

The Challenge

Despite operating 300+ facilities, the company had no centralized platform, data warehouse, or BI tools in place. Critical data was highly disconnected, scattered across isolated CRM, point-of-sale, and access control systems. Furthermore, the company lacked the internal data team required to implement a modern data stack, leaving leadership with a vision for analytics but no clear roadmap to achieve it.

Our Approach

We managed the end-to-end deployment through a comprehensive 6-step process. After auditing all data sources and negotiating favorable vendor terms, we deployed Databricks as the core platform utilizing a Medallion architecture for data cleansing. We built automated data ingestion pipelines and developed a full suite of BI dashboards spanning operations, marketing, delinquency, and call center performance.
